About This Piece

This sculpture by Dane Romberger features a bust of Kenneth Mackenzie MacIntosh and serves as a eulogy for his years of service on the Denver City Council. He was called “Mr. Denver.”

The sculpture memorializes Kenneth MacKenzie MacIntosh, who was eulogized by colleagues at the time of his death in 1980 as “Mr. Denver”. MacIntosh was an important force in the planned growth and development of the many facilities that are enjoyed by countless citizens. He exemplified the highest principles of integrity, compassion, fairness and devotion to civic duty. He served as Denver City Councilman for 22 years, 1959-1980 Administrative Assistant to Mayor Benjamin Stapleton, Assistant Attorney General for the State of Colorado, United States Enforcement Attorney, Practicing Attorney and Legal Counsel, Lieutenant Commander United States Navy Retired, Distinguished Athlete at University of Denver, Graduate of the University of Denver College of Law.
