Chasing Dreams explores the journey of finding your voice while rising above the challenges that often shape our neighborhoods. Woven through symbols of resilience, culture, nature, and community, the mural celebrates the courage to dream beyond expectations. It speaks to the daily choice between opportunity and temptation, reminding us that our roots do not define our limits. This piece honors those who continue to push forward with purpose, proving that with determination, identity, and hope, every dream is worth chasing.

Artist Ratha Sok designed and painted a mural on the retaining wall for the Iowa Underpass bicycle/pedestrian path, depicting the history and landmarks of the Overland neighborhood. Mr. Sok also collaborated with poet José Guerrero to incorporate an original poem into the mural. The goal of the public art commission was to create a warm, safe, and accessible experience for all users of the bicycle/pedestrian path through imagery and prose.
