About This Piece
I chose to paint the Indian Paintbrush and Yucca plants that I saw during my walks around the park, after meeting an older couple, who had come to see the early spring blooms along the trails of Red Rocks. This is a theme that I often pursued in California during the spring months. My vantage point is low to the ground and offered the viewer a perspective, that would go unnoticed at the walking level. My intent was to inspire respect and awe for our native plants and to let visitors see what beauty lies along the trails of Red Rocks.
